Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego are shared territories between Argentina and Chile, some of the most remote, desolated wilderness left on earth.
Patagonia was connected to main part of Chile by the Caraterra Austral only during the Pinoche regime and this highway (partly unpaved), which we will be riding, is just one of the amazing riding attractions on this ‘Tour to the End of the world’. Ushuaia, the most southern city on earth, and the official gateway to Antarctica is another.
On our way we will be Crossing the granite peaks of the mighty Andes range, rich with glaciers, volcanoes and prestine alpine lakes and will visit what is considered by many the most beautiful natural park on earth, the ‘Torres del Paine’. We will stay with El Gouchos the original Argentinian Cow-boys on an authentic Estancia (farm) and we will cross the infamous Magellan straits when heading on to the Tierra del Fuego (land of fire) island, for our final leg to The End of The Earth.
These harsh lands, infinite wilderness and unforgettable views of nature make for the back drop of this once in a lifetime adventure.
This southern remote land has short season of riding spanning (Summer) November to March. The weather is never predictable. As we prees southward towards the tip of South America the weather is affected by the two mighty oceans on both sides coming ever closer to each other and finally meeting at Cape Horn. Chile the western part of this tour is rainy year round and one can expect to ride some of the time in rain. The Argentinian plains east and shadowed by the Andies are a near desert and while dryer are prone to strong winds that may become gusty at times. when combining these elements with partially unpaved roads things can get challenging. However, we never compromise safety and we will slow our pace or even stop in the event of dangerous conditions.
